Teepak, Which is it?

Postby LANCEBOUSLEY » Mon Jan 21, 2008 12:31 pm

The web page for the 07 tour looks like it is calculating the average points by dropping the 2 lowest events.

There is another thread on the 07 tour boards that calculates the average by dropping only one of the low scores for those who have participated in 7 events.

Would ya please clarify????

thanks.

You're only supposed to drop your lowest score if you play 6 or 7 events. I'll alert Bernie and get him to fix it ASAP. Thanks for pointing it out.

I checked with Bernie, and he says the scores are calculating correctly (i.e. dropping only the lowest score for managers who have played 6 or 7 events). Can you give me some specific examples of managers whose scores appear to be different from what is on the TSN home page? Remember that the TSN site does not update scores until a league is complete.

EXAMPLES

Minor difference, but could be big with everything being so close:

keyzick 101 (75) 105 101 82 100 104

Drop the 75, divide the remaining sum of 593, and the avg is 98.8...the site says 98.6

akindian 83 109 90 101 (82) 89 104

Drop the 82, divide the remaining sum of 576, and the avg is 96...the site says 98.7

Sorry Akindian :( ...didn't mean to pick on yours, but who knows how many people have screwed up averages because the system is screwed up.

ALSO Teepack...I also noticed the game awarding 50 points for each of my last 2 tour champions, rather than 75. No big deal (except to my ego!!), but just another issue magnifying that the programming definitely needs to be looked at.

Teepack,

The site shows my average at 101.4. It is actually 107.8.

90,(81),110,107,119,113 6 events drop 1 539/5= 107.8

Thanks for looking into it.

Nothing's wrong with the programming - we just have some bookkeeping issues.

On the tournament page, if you click on a manager's name, you'll be able to see the breakdown of each Event and League the manager participated in. Please compare this page with your own records.

keyzick's Event 6, League 7 championship wasn't being counted because that team was listed as a filler. It's been corrected and your score now agrees with your figure of 98.8.

akindian's League 7 team was not listed as a filler. It's been corrected and your score now agrees with your figure of 96.0.

Terry101's discrepancy (as well as others) were caused by the fact that Event 6, League 1 wasn't benig counted properly. It's been corrected and your score now agrees with your figure of 107.8.

If you see any more errors, please report them to Teepack, who will alert me. Thanks.

The only other issue I noticed would then be the awarding of 50 points for each of my last 2 tour champions, rather than 75. For whatever reason, their being counted as Advanced leagues rather than Tour Leagues.
