07 advice

Well I got Ortiz in the draft and Hafner clear waivers and I picked him up too. Would I be better off getting rid of Hafner and Everett for Jeter and Quinlan? Any other advice would be great.

Definately take Ortiz over Hafner. Drop Hafner, consider Eskstein at SS. This would give you a lot of $ to play with. You may want to drop Reed for better SLG LF, RF. Then get another LF,RF with high SLG Depending on the amount of LH SP in your division, Spezio might be worth a look at 1B. I think Jeter is a bad fit for your park. Also, Haren is going to get clobbered at Wrigley. Just a few thoughts.......

Here is a my current Wrigley team

....on 2nd thought, Maybe Spezio might not be a great idea..

I agree with Roscodog. Keep defense at short as your primary factor in any moves you're going to make. I have never used Jeter's card, but have been interested. If you can afford him, I think his contributions in the field and at the plate will be great for you. I would drop Hafner, and there aren't many times I would ever say that.

I generally agree with a 1 or 2 at SS. But, I have had success with Eckstein.

He has anemic offense and marginal D, but it frees up a lot of $. The key being, you than must have strong D at 2nd and CF.

I am biased against Jeter because he has seriously underperformed the 2 times I drafted him. If it were not for that, I might have a different opinion. Jeter may work, you definately need a lead off hitter. Also, Eckstein aside, you need to up your slg %.
