Petco lineup

Woof...and woof again, yes you have some work cut out for ya'...tough...in Ameriquest and Coors they might just outscore you...in PNC and Petco you're in better shape, your defense is excellent up the middle (The best in my taste) Good solid starters and pen...no need to go Kabuki right now and implode your team...at least none of the lefties you are facing are * so that might work on your favor :D

Yeah good points. Well, I just started 2-1, however, Hafner sucked for the first three games. Pitching, tops in the league for now. :)

Mostly righties in their pens?...hmmm not bad, I think that other than Maddritsch they're S6 or S5...with your pitching and their righty pens the pic is looking better and better.

What do you think of this:

Vs L

Overbay-L
Castillo-R
Klesko-L
Glaus-R
Haffner-L
Jones--R
Ausmus-R
Cruz-R
Izturis-R

This might help use some of Overbay's OBP and avoid his gbAs while switching the R-L lineup and sandwiching Haff.

Actually I am strating to feel a bit more optimistic about your team :D

LOL thanks for your advice and optimism. Actually I had thought of leading off with Overbay but saw somewhere the other day about having your fastest guys 1 and 2 so I didn't know which way to go. Seein as I have a team total of 1 stolen base after three games I should go for the OBP at the top eh?

Well...good question, I am sure everyone has a good opinion about it. I love good speed on top but... I love even more having two .400+ OBP going 1-2, if they happen to be two 3 ft. tall sumo wrestlers that walk all the time and run the split in 27 minutes I don't care, have the fans and pitcher waiting as they walk around the bases, what I do want is for them to be on base when my boppers come to town.

On the other hand if my big bats are more like medium bats with tons of FB? in their cards then I do want the 1-2 to make it to 3rd to use those sac flys...if they snag bags along the way so be it...but they do have to get on base in order for their speed to make a difference, otherwise I'll have a leadoff batter that runs like a road runner from the dugout to the plate and back to the dugout after grounding out...but boy-o-boy does he do it in a flash!

(I'm tired and feel a bit too silly right now)

Seriously, I think it's a combo of speed and OBP, otherwise you'd see Podsednik leading off more often, but as I said earlier I do love speedy lineups

I play in Ameriquest tonight. they already have 6 homeruns I believe so I put closer on regular, relief on aggressive and infield in after the 5th inning. this makes sense to me. I have Robertson at max innings and on quick hook. that team's OBP is .370! Not too scared though...I saw a Coors team lead the league in runs and finish last in pitching and have one of the worst records. Not too worried.

thanks for the link, this is so I can peek in on your progress as the time goes by.

fyi, try not to over manage and pull guys before you need to, I've had robertson in petco pitch multiple shutouts and complete games, have faith, he can pitch well, petco is a pitchers park, don't put inning restrictions on them, but put your relief on agressive, if they pitch well, they stay in, if not, the relief comes to the rescue.

and, don't judge your team on one series, wait until you have 20+ games under your belt before making any rash decisions

hey milezd, thanks for the tips. I appreciate that you will check on my progress too. I am glad Robertson will pitch good in Petco. I had originally had Milton as well because I had him on another Petco team. Then I remembered that I also had two other Petco teams in my division. Not the case this time so I think I'd rather have Robertson. Plus, Robertson is one of my favourite pitchers.
