ATG III Half-Team Keeper League - Season IV (8) Concluded!!

70 teams x 2 = 140 half squads (70 Pitching, 70 Hitting).
Each Owner gets 8 half squads to build his "Franchise"
Half teams drafted comprise of your player pool for the rest of the keeper league duration, except re: Rule 7.

Keeper League will last for 4 seasons. Owners will vote at end of season 4 to re-do (start fresh), or continue on in 2 year periods.

1 - 8 Round Draft (Random Number Generator)

2 - Draft 8 1/2 squads (Pitching or Hitting).

3 - Must draft at least 3 Pitching or Hitting squads (which means a max of 5 of the opposite)

4 - Rotation from 80m to 100m AND DH to No DH.

5 - 5/10/20% Salary Hit

6 - FA Pool is off limits except to add/release players from your half squads.

6a - Exception: Players acquired via trade
6b - Players from unused half squads are ALWAYS Off limits

7 - Every season, owners will be required to cut 4 1/2 squads.

7a - From Worst Record to Best*, owners will then have the right to redraft 4 1/2 squads in a 4 round NFL Style draft.

7b - You are allowed to go below the minimum 3 Pitcher/Hitter squad rule during the drop phase but must have 3 pitching & 3 hitting squads at the end of the 4 round draft.

8 - Trades are "Rentals" only (For that season).

9 - Ballparks are limited to the parks that your half squads played in. That still gives you an 8 park selection.

10a - Ballparks can be changed yearly
10b - Owners must use 2 of their 8 ballparks within the 4 years

11 - 2 owners can play in the same park - ie 86 Astros Hitting & 86 Astros Pitching owners can both play in the Astrodome (no one else can).

12 - Divisions for Season I will be 1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-8, 9-10-11-12

12a - Every year after that will be determined by End of Season Record*

* - We will start a new season every 4-6 weeks to ensure we get all 4 seasons in before any ATG III upgrades/changes occur (this summer?).

So End of Season Record will only apply if a season has been completed. Otherwise it will be based on current W/L record of previous season at the start of the New season.

Although this is the first season of this session, I am considering it the 5th season overall since there were 4 prior seasons in ATG III. Basically 4 seasons with a full reboot.

What about subsequent seasons?

If we're going to start the 2nd season 4-6 weeks after the 1st one starts, who picks 1st (since we won't know who will win and lose the 1st league)?

If it's based on position, then we need pre-determined end dates so there is no question about waiting and your position has changed.
or
we use the randomizer for season 2 draft and then use season 1 results for season 3 draft and the season 2 results for season 4 draft.

Subsequent seasons will use NFL Style Draft (1-12 each round).

The second season draft order can either be based upon the W/L record after 4 weeks (84 games), or be done by randomizer - which ever majority prefers.

Third season draft order WILL be based on W/L Results of Season I (with ties broken by H2H followed by RS/RA differential).

Fourth season draft order WILL be based on W/L Results of Season II (with ties broken by H2H followed by RS/RA differential).

Please state your preference for next season before making your first round pick.

I will be back later today (around 6-7pm) to get someone to do a randomization.

The number listed is the number assigned to you for tonights random number ordering - it is NOT the draft order.

If anyone backs out the alternate (in order listed) will take that players number/draft spot. However I believe everyone except maybe genegrid & sdajr76 signed off on the rules.
