I posted a msg in the league emai, but not sure who's reading it vs watching this thread.
It has to do with a SP/RP rated P who pitched enough innings to qualify as a RP, but not enough for a SP. Can one pick this player up and use them as a SP in this league or can it only be as a RP?
The player in question was B Pierce who pitched 55 innings for Detroit way back when - but can be a RP as well.
I just want to know how strict we are with the requirements - in case this situation comes up again with another player.
my top of my head response is, in Pierce's case, since we all know he'd be used as a SP, I would say he would have to meet the 150 IP requirement to be used, at least until the "cup of coffee' deadline. Then, and only then, would he be eligible to be a Tiger.
Subject: Clearer Wording on Change in Eligibility

I understand that some managers may have an issue with a perceived
rule change while the Theme is in progress. The primary reasons for
allowing this specific change is that in my opinion it's consistant with how
the Theme for the multiple leagues ( remember this is League 5 -
Season 7). I've always had a provision for exceptions where I and/or a
committee rule on requested exceptions.
There has also been a provision for allowing 3 season players with 1
Franchise to be approved though as time has gone by the these
exceptions become less frequent.
I don't have a problem with attempting to develope a criteria for
standards to follow.
The criteria used for Walling was that he was a role player and his card
wasn't one that would change the Franchise around.
It's not so much his platoon rating as it was the level of his card.
I would go ahead and set the standard that any position player with 3
years or more on a roster for a specific Franchise and who doesn't meet
the normal eligibility provisions must have a card which the salary is less
than $3.75M.
For SP the salary must be less than $1.25M and a RP less than $0.65M .
SO SAYETH THE COMMISSIONER - OF COURSE I COULD BE WRONG
