I like abreu #1 although he's hard to get, so freel is who I most often use. My #2 is more often than not a platoon of whatever high OBP onesided players I have available.

An Abreu DH...

with Ichiro in Rf and Pierre in CF with Wilkerson in LF might be all you'd need in a place like Shea at the top. But Abreu is so popular(Usually a #1 or 2 pick for most people) that he is very hard to get.

One of the really important factors about the Freel/Pierre/Ichiro top 3 is ballpark. Fenway/PNC might be the 2 best. It could also work at Petco, but it is important to play in a high singles low Hr Park to be most effective. ie the reason to follow with one of the 3 or 4 big Natural HR hitters.(Glaus, Bonds, Morneau, Arod etc. ) to get some pop in the 1-1 bP hR park.

Sounds like a good way to build a team. I'm gonna try that strategy with my next team!

To get those 3 or even 2 at the Top of your order they almost have to go with your 1 and 2 picks. If you take SP's at the top of your list, it is likely you will not get Ichiro - who I would recommend that you take #1. To guarantee getting Pierre to hit in front of him - I would take him either 2 or 3. And Freel not lower than 10th, but to ensure the 3 at the top I'd take Ichiro 1st, Your Ace starter #2, Pierre #3 and your cleanup hitter, closer at either 4 or 5 and then Freel between 6-10. But I think at 6th ther shouldn't be a problem. Remember, this top of the order is Ballpark and strategy specific. If you take Fenway, PNC, or Petco and don't get the players, the strategy could totally backfire.

In that league where it worked so well - I took Ichiro #1 and Pierre #2 to guarantee I'd get those 2. There is no real substitute for Ichiro tho. He is the player that makes it all work.

GL with it. Robert(SWP)
