Here are the rules we used....
K, Twist first..
The first round, will have 13 teams available to draft 1990 A's to 77 Dodgers
The 2nd round, will have 13 teams available to draft 77 Phillies to 59 Cubs
The 3rd round will have 13 teams available to draft 59 White Sox to 34 Cards
And the last round will have 12 teams available to draft 29 Cubs to the 03 Pilgrims
There will be a different draft order for EVERY round (Pending everyones approval of Nathan's idea)
now, the basics....
80 MILLION CAP NO DH
Stadium comes from one of your drafted teams
3 undrafted teams are available immediately
And last but not least, the last 3 managers to draft in ROUND 4 ONLY have a choice between the 3 previous unchosen teams, or the ones that are left for them in the last round (so manager drafting #10 will have 6 teams to choose from, manager #11 will have 5 teams to choose from, manager #12 will have 4 teams to choose from
So, pick a state when you join.

Rules that will be different
1. Serpitine draft that will mean pick just one state.
2. 80 million cap think that might even it up a little for all
3. Frenzy on the 3 remaining teams right away.
4. No DH

I really like the idea of this 4-team draft! I have a couple of concerns with the rules. Granted these may not be etched in stone at this time. One is the $100,000,000 cap with the use of the DH. Most of us are probably more comfortable with the $80 million cap. I, for one have never been in a league that used a DH!
Also, I think the draft would be more fair for everybody if we did NOT have a new draft every round. I feel that the 2nd round should be the direct opposite of the first. In other words, whoever gets the first pick in the 1st round would get the last pick in the 2nd. We could either keep this order throughout the draft OR we could have another lottery for the 3rd round, then do the reverse order again the the 4th round. Just a thought. What do you guys think??

please hear my thoughts on the serpentine draft order. they are below.
CHOPS:
Here are my thoughts about the draft order. fine to use pick-3 results (highest to lowest) on a given night using 12 states to generate a draft order from 1 to 12. After that i would use the following draft order.
ERA 1: (most recent 13 teams)
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12
ERA 2:
12,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1
ERA 3:
7,8,9,10,11,12,1,2,3,4,5,6
ERA 4: (earliest 12 teams)
6,5,4,3,2,1,12,11,10,9,8,7 (team 9,8,7 can also choose one of the 3 reject teams from the other ERAs)
I feel this is the fairest way. all 12 teams get a top 3 pick in one of the rounds (as well as a bottom 3 pick)

Here is another option on the draft order. There might be a little more work involved, but would involve more stategy and maybe more fun: Who ever has the #1 pick doesn't have to necessarily pick first. He could have any pick he wants 1-12. Lets say for example he wants to have the 4th pick, then the 2nd guy would pick any choice other than the 4th. So-on and so-on until all 12 managers have made a selection. After the first round, the rest of the draft would be the "New and improved Nate Rud method of drafting".
Just a thought guys. What do you think?

I wish I was buying my own place. I'm sick of my apartment. Have no idea what web sites to go to check out different homes and areas, find out about 1st time home owner grants, etc.

Rules like the Wraith wrote out a few post back except for the Nate new and improved draft order. The divisions made are the first four in the east the next four the central the last four the west so you Luverne people be careful when you enter your team. We will use Wednesdays pick 3 if 2 pick 3 in 1 day use the early numbers High number pick 1 in first round and first team in the east and so on.
Any more questions there are peolpe in this league a lot smarter than me so leave a note and someone else feel free to answer. chops

We using the night time pick 3? IL has a daily and a night time, don't know about if the other states have 1 or 2 drawings.

nprud, some lottery results may not come in till after 1 AM, and they should all be verified and such, to be conservatitive, I would guess that the draft will begin probaby early AM EST tomorrow. Probably around 8ish or so.
