Need 5 to start '86 league w/ swell group of guys

Our historical single season sets

This is shaping up nicely...!

Postby TomSiebert » Sat Mar 01, 2008 4:39 pm

I was originally going to set this for $80MM, but I wonder if people would prefer $100MM so we get more studs and well-known players in the game (though I'm weirded out that the highest SLG % comes from a guy with only 74 AB).

Are we in agreement on:

Mixed League
Autodraft
DH
$100 MM

Happy to see The Turtle, SGTD & Calbatross quickly back in the fold. Meat is also supposed to show up here at some point.

2007 Teams should be dropping soon -- I'd rather hold off on the Live Draft for that and continue 1986 as autodraft. Let's see if we can fill this 1986 thing with guys we know before just starting a standard league.

Would everyone who wants to be part of this circle please send me their email address? Zap it to:

siebertws13@yahoo.com

Thanks! I'm shooting to get the 1986 League started next Monday. I'm in Orlando at the AAAA Media Conference Wed-Fri, and will set up a league before then.

Onward!!!

I hadn't even seen that Al wasn't on here yet, and he emailed me Friday to say he's got a team lined up and ready to go.

At this point, since nobody's weighed in and I know several players have been drafting a $80MM team, we'll stick with that.

AL/NL Mix of Players
DH
$80MM cap
Autodraft

The SGT weighs in....

...indeed he does, with the NY pick.

Does that mean you prefer a live Draft? I'd be open to drafting, say, the first ten guys or so, but I'd prefer to just hit this autodraft style, and I'm about to set up a league, probably called the Maxwell Smart or Don Adams Invitational (Maxwell Smart was Agent 86, remember?)

Let's see how Bruce Springsteen manages a 1986 Strat-o-Matic squad as he attempts to drum up publicity for his soon-to-be-released boxed set, "Live 1975/1985."
