Changing ballparks

Should the new option to change ballparks up until opening day be continued

I agree with a couple of the comments here:

If you limited the window in which you could change the park to just a couple days after waivers, players could still switch direction after a bad draft and opponents would still have time to adjust after parks are finalized.

In general I kind of dig the slow modification of the game, it makes it feel a little bit new every year.

I rarely comment on these issues but this is a bad idea.

Moving players around before a season starts is one thing, but changing ballparks is completely unrealistic. Part of the challenge in real baseball is dealing with your playing environment - which does not change. With this change the game completely departs from realism.

I understand why this is in place at this time, based on Bernie's posts. If the underlying problem can be adjusted so that the game can return to its original form, the stadium "frenzy" could be included as an option similar to the salary cap and DH options that are set as the league is formed.

Otherwise it should be removed as soon as possible.

Realism? Because its real that 6 of 12 stadiums are the Kingdome? If the goal is realism.. then don’t allow everyone to have the same stadium. If everyone has a unique stadium then yes I agree, you shouldn’t be able to swap out your stadium without suffering a penalty.

What we used to do years ago when we had a F2F league was at the beginning of each season teams could move... for a price.

My solution would be similar. Everyone has unique stadium. Maybe have a stadium draft the day before the draft or something. If you don’t like your stadium.. you can move preseason, but it cost $ to do it. This will keep people from moving multiple times preseason.

But overall as it stands now, I like that you can move based on your players. And I don’t see any one team gaining an advantage over another so I'm not exactly sure what the issue is.

i think its a good idea :D ...agreeing with what JoetheJet said.. BUT i like even better the idea of having each team need to draft a unique park..i also like the idea of having an option to build our own ballpark using our own choice of unqiue ballpark dimensions...

It seems like a real bad idea. If there was a limited time frame as has been said, I wouldn't be in favor but I think I could get used to it or grow to like it. Right up to opening day will never be a good idea IMO. It is a very drastic change from the current(or the past?).
