I'm not sure if Salty can displace Ben Broussard at 1B - last I heard Broussard was going to be the full time 1B even against LHP. He's always produced when given enough at bats. His time here in Seattle was just a waste -

Saltalamacchia's 22, and his main problem at catcher seems to be defense- meaning scouts love his bat, which in the SOM format, means vastly more. All he has to do is catch a few games, and not get tagged with a 5e16 +4, and he's a catcher in this league no matter what he is in real life.

I understand the trepidation- its why I took Towles first- but I'll take my chances where I got him.

And as for Soto, qk- are you sure he's not a mirage? He was viewed as a career back-up until he blew up last year, and the numbers he put up were in a hitters' park in a hitters' league.

Hey Mike,

It's the continuation of those numbers in his cup of coffee that convinced me. He crushed the ball in his 60 or so PAs.

They scouts also say that he worked hard on conditioning and improved his bat speed a ton last year over his previous years. Most of the scouting reports I've seen think he's the real deal, and he's been handed the starting job there on a platter. Towles is good too, has more minor league stats to back it up, so we'll see. I'd have been happy with either.

That's my bad I guess -- sorry.

He IS listed on KD's roster, but he also was accidently listed on the FA list.

As you know, it is very hard to get that 100% right. :oops: :cry:
