line up suggestions

Postby gett1863 » Sun Jan 15, 2006 7:18 pm

Hello everyone. Long time strat-o-matic baseball player (remember when Nolan Ryan and Frank Tanana were with the Angels) Starting out my first season with the online version and my team is getting its brains beat out.
Any thoughts? on this lineup vs RHP
1. Ford, Lew (R) RF
2. Figgins, Chone (S) LF
3. Young, Michael (R) SS
4. Morneau, Justin (L) DH
5. Teixeira, Mark (S) 1B
6. Soriano, Alfonso (R) 2B
7. Lowell, Mike (R) 3B
8. Chavez, Endy (L) CF
9. Larue, Jason (R)

Normally Kevin Mench (who is really stinking up the joint) is in the #8 hole but he is hurt. Agaisnts RHP I put Paul Konerko in the 5 hole and raise Lowell to cleanup. Any and all thoughts welcome.

Thanks
J

Well...

Having a 3 @ SS AND a 4 @ 2B is not a good idea. ALOT of balls are getting through the infield. Your lineup is not the problem IMHO.
It's the defense.

I think it's almost impossible to get everything you need. I got 1's in all my middle defence and defence ain't my problem...offence is. It seems like you have to decide which you want cuz it's hard to get both.

Are you playing Teixeira in RF? You have three first basemen, so I figured that's where he must be playing. It adds another four to your D. Judging by the high eras from some good pitchers, I would say that defense is hurting you pretty badly. In Anaheim, you shouldn't be giving up that many hits.
