Drop Roger Clemens?

Postby seattle101 » Fri Mar 14, 2008 8:50 pm

I have been toying with this Idea I am a game under .500. Through 60 innings pitched he is 3-4 with a 3.58 era. My other starters are Jim Deshaies, Jack Morris, Mark Langston and Sid Fernandez. I am playing in the kingdome. I would upgrade my centerfield position and and pick up a couple of more players with the left over money. He seems too expensive to be that Normal.

That's not his ideal park, but that's an OK ERA for him in that park. If you lose 20%, I wouldn't cut him. To early to tell after 60 IP. I know the only team I have Clemens on is my only good team.

Clemens is not your problem...

Immediately even though I have not seen your team, I know you have wasted money. You mention 5 pitchers with a *. You only need 4.

I have a feeling, you need to upgrade other areas, and NOT drop Clemens.

You can NOT replace him.

If you do, you will fall even further.

Roger Clemens started slow for me in my league. Then he threw a no-hitter, and has mostly lived up to expectations since. I'm not sure I would pick him again because of his heavy price (he isn't doing that much better than the rest of my high-powered staff), but I definitely wouldn't take the 20 percent hit in dropping him in the middle of a season.

If you feel you MUST get rid of him then put out an open ended offer to the whole league and get your CF plus a pitcher .TRADE him , no cap hit .
