I'm still interested in the leauge, but I have a few questions.

How are we going to so a 40+1 draft/ All the SOM drafts I've seen have been just 25 players?

Is there a seperate site to keep track of all the extras, like prospects?

How will it be set up to switch guys from the major league roster to the minor league and vice versa?

What did you mean by the part of rule 5 that says "except those internal to the SOM game engine. " ?

We don't do the draft just on the TSN game site. The draft will either be conducted on the boards or on Major deegans live draft site, if he has the new (2007) card set loaded in time. Once he live draft is completed, we load our starting 25 players on the TSN site and the draft runs at night like it always does.

[i:ef9ce707c1]Is there a seperate site to keep track of all the extras, like prospects?
[/i:ef9ce707c1]

If you read all the prospect rules, you saw that each owner is responsible for their own reseasrch and knowing what prospects are available. If someone is ineligible, myself or one of the owners will let you know.
As to keeping track of rosters, that's my job as the commisioner. I will track all major transactions between team(trades) and drops for drafts. In season transactions between your minor leagues are not kept track of, there is no need.
As for the extra 15 players on each team, during the draft, if we use Major deegan's site that will be no problem, if not, trust me we'll manage.

[i:ef9ce707c1]How will it be set up to switch guys from the major league roster to the minor league and vice versa?[/i:ef9ce707c1]

This is why you have a 200mil salary cap. Once you draft your 40 players no one but you can use them even if they are available as a free agent on TSN's site. Obviously this takes honesty on the part of all owners. If you do not comply with this you will be removed from the league once the season is over and a replacment owner will be found for your team. As to moving themup from the minors, simply add and drop to your heart's content- see next question for restrictions however

[i:ef9ce707c1]What did you mean by the part of rule 5 that says "except those internal to the SOM game engine. " [/i:ef9ce707c1]?

There is a limit to the number of transactions you are allowed by TSN's site, even if you have enough money to make the transctions. I'm not sure the exect number But I believe it's 125, someone can correct me if I'm wrong. That means you probably don't want to move 4 guys up and down every single series, but to move a guy up to cover for an injury, then back down to get to 25 unijured players should be no problem. Of course if you do so many add/drops you use up all your cash you'll be stuck too. Most teams will start at about 110-130 mil spent so you'll have about an extra 70-90 mil to pay for the transactions.

Keep the questions coming.

Ninersphan,

Thanks for setting the league up. I have some questions>

The non-serpentine drafts are based on the [i:9220f65a09]previous seasons record.[/i:9220f65a09] Is it best record to worst record or worst record to best record?

In the prospect drafts- [i:9220f65a09]only those players with no MLB experience[/i:9220f65a09]. Does that mean never played in the majors, no at bats, no innings pitched ever in the majors? Or, is it someone with no SOM card? Is a prospect -for this years draft- someone who never had a major league at bat prior to this season, but [i:9220f65a09]could[/i:9220f65a09] be playing now in 08. Or never had a major league at bat or pitch before the actual free agent draft?

And, in this case, for example, Mark Prior can't be drafted, right? He has played in the majors, but does not have an 07 card. He is not a prospect, either.

[i:9220f65a09]Prospects can be activated and promoted to the major leaage roster during the season[/i:9220f65a09]. [i:9220f65a09]It also says that players on the 40 man roster cannot be released in order to promote a prospect while the season is in progress. [/i:9220f65a09] - unless there is room on the roster. But, the rules say that you miust always have a 40 man roster (unless there is an unbalnced trade situation) Can you clarify that?
And, prospects can only be on the major league roster if they have a SOM card and they can not have a SOM card unless they played in the majors. So, how would you promote a prospect during the season? Would it be that the prospect is from season one and now has a card in season two? If that is the case, why wouldn't the prospect be on the 40 man to begin the year?

The supplemental drafts? These are players who have a SOM card AND were not drafted in the first 480 players, right?

Thanks for clarifying.
