RJ, Santana, Zambrano at Yankee Stadium?

you still have money to spend!!!

in the future, you should spend all of your cash before the season starts, it does no good to hold on to it "for later"

I was peeking at the list of free agents available in your league, and WOW, is all I have to say

Yea, I know about the money. I earned it by dropping some expensive relievers minutes before the first of the season. I hope to trade up some of my players to help others free cap space.

Second, I know, this league is all newbies who all went with moderation. Four million dollar players are the average GREAT player, etc. Unfortunately, I have just a little too little money to pick up one of the nine or ten million dollar players like Drew, but I'm working on it. Don't you wish you were in the league?

reality vs strat

Postby rgimbel » Wed Jan 18, 2006 3:47 pm

one thing u have to do is realize there is a big difference between the real game and strat performance. I love Oswalt great control power pitcher doesnt try to fool you just pitches to spots. in this game he is a waste of money. before i said konerko was a stiff. in real life tremendous player but in strat just doesnt get enough ob to put him with the good hitters. some guys are just overpriced like helton and others underpriced like huff. just a matter of getting experience my first team was a disaster

good luck

CAST IRON WINS!

Postby hugedude24 » Sun Mar 19, 2006 2:04 am

Just to let anybody (and everybody) who helped me along the way know:

Rookie manager, one team, one playoffs, ONE CHAMPIONSHIP! I held Mauer, Chavez and Stewart out the week before playoffs and lost the league #1 seed, but was still second going in. Chavez got hurt in the championships, but Cast Iron overcame and beat a sold Folsom Chain Gang Team.

Thanks for all your help, support and ideas. I can't wait to play 2006, but I need a break too!

As you can see, RJ got me there (MVP and Cy Young) and the midseason pickup of Mauer was well worth the 20% loss of dropping Konerko! Good luck to all, I'm proud to be a part of the few, the proud, the Strat-o-Matic champions!
