Reading the comments here before the draught page, I thought we were TOTALLY dead-in-the-water since yesterday, but after further review, I sea that I did land the two big fish I proxied -- Hunter (probably overpriced for a .334 OBA, but I need some RH bats who slug LH pitching, and he's all but an automatic out thru cf-X) and Penny, whose low ERA may be deceptive in the face of a 1.31 WHIP, but I'll take my chances.

Tried calling Mark last night, but couldn't get thru -- had to resort to pestering Al at home, and even that call got cut off after a few minutes. The perils of a seafaring life, I suppose.

No clue what's going on in the real world. No newspapers on the ship, the Island in the Bahamas had no newspaper at all, and the front page of the Key West daily was all local stuff. I suppose I could waste my precious .55/minute finding out, but I don't want to know that badly....has Cheney attacked Iran yet?

I liked Hunter too, but Adam Dunn, although a defensive liability (he may DH), was probably the best offensive player left on the board, and I need a righty-hammering lefty. A 3-4-5 of of Utley, Pujols, and Dunn should be pretty formidable.

Making my picks is getting REALLY annoying. I had to wait more than 18 hours once (not on Mark's turn that time) and now it looks like at least that long again.

this is pretty bogus, especially since we asked to stick around and make the 2nd pick since everyone was lined up to get right back to mark. I don't think people realize that 11-others are counting on them, and an explanation of why they won't be around, or arrangements everyone else made, even at .55 a minute, would be nice. those of us who check in hour after endless hour with no progress, eventually give up....
