"Reverse" lefty/righty lineups

Postby CHARLESBELL » Wed Mar 26, 2008 2:45 pm

I would like to see this available as an option which we can use or leave blank to default to the regular lineups as others have stated.

One consideration is that player pricing "might" need to be looked at. Will reverse pitching become less valuable? Will reverse hitters be worth more?

It's a great idea.

And, sounds to me like it could even be used in the other direction, for example, if 9R Danny Darwin is starting along with two other righties, you could set one of the lineups for him and use your "normal" starting lineup for the "regular" righties.

Interesting impact in mystery card leagues

Postby coyote303 » Thu Mar 27, 2008 7:25 am

Wouldn't this help you figure out which pitcher's card you might have in mystery card leagues? It could be a challenge since you won't know the opposing manager's cutoff. However, over the course of the season, you might be able to figure out which year you have for pitchers who are reverse some years and not others.

While this might not be a bad thing necessarily, it could encourage collusion between managers. Knowing your opponent's cutoff could make it much easier to figure out which card you have. "You scratch my back; I'll scratch yours."

Just an additional comment to my last post:

If HAL can be made to look at the TSN 5-year balance average for pitchers, then there would be no problem. Can this be done?

I agree with Coyote

This will hurt one sided starters and uit will make lefty pitchers even worse since they already face "super cards" cards unnaturally stacked against the left beccause of low percentage faced status.
