Hey guys - no problem accessing the site at school. However, those darn classes do get in the way. I won't have any problem keeping up. A wrench was thrown in when Holliday went right before me. I had him tabbed, and now I'm not sure about my Roberts pick. But he's young enough and plays a premium position. Maybe he'll get traded to the Cubs and really explode this year.

Great info by the way, it's cool to hear everyone's story. I told you I'm a history guy.

Reading through this I am now even more bummed! heh I too am a late 30's High School Baseball Coach married with 2kids. Anyway, even though I'm not in your league I will watch the draft unfold and play along as I may learn a thing or 2.

Good luck with the league and GO M's!

I'm going to opening day today at Safeco Field... I'm feeling an Erik Bedard opening day No-Hitter! Any chance?

Opening Day at Safeco, huh? How cool would that be?

Cleveland is about a 2 hour drive north of Columbus, but the local sports station here broadcast their noon show from the home run porch at Progressive (...hgnh...must...not...call...it...Jacobs...) Field. I'm just grateful there will be no "snow out" this year. I would love to be there, but alas.

By the way, regarding two kids - I like the man-to-man vs. zone analogy. I tell everyone our philosophy is based on the old Bill Cosby joke: The reason we have two children is because we don't want three.

I also have opening day tickets to Safeco Field - Sec 133, Row 27 - for those of you who've been there that's 27 rows up directly behind the plate.

And I can't go...I've got this stomach flu that has been going around and it has knocked me for a loop. Normally I'm a lot more involved at the start of these leagues, but I haven't been able to travel much farther than bed to bathroom for the past 5 days. So I beg your pardon and will try and keep up.

My name is Marc Walsh, and I'm a financial officer for King County in the state of Washington. I discovered the online SOM game early in 2000 while recovering from a car accident, and I've been hooked since. I tend to play only in long term keeper leagues now, and am currently in 5 different versions of this type of league. I think Ninersphan is in all of them as well.

I can't tell you how much I enjoy these leagues. I love the strategy, the planning and the wheeling & dealing. I look forward to many years of battles with you all - and a few championships to boot!

Splinter - I use History Channel stuff a bit. I've actually been using the Presidents DVD. You'll have to let me know what good stuff I could use. Although our curriculum here in the North might be slightly different than yours in the South. It's nice to know there'll be some Rebs to fight against in the league. :P

...an old fashion hockey game, but a hockey game nonetheless.

You have my sympathy, friend.
