When you play the board game

Sounds pretty cool...I'll have to get it when I can spare the money. I wonder if they will get an online hockey version like this baseball game.

When I was younger, first became obsessed with SOM, and had more spare time, I used to do some pretty different things with the cards. Some examples: I would group players alphabetically and make teams up by last names and play series of round robin tournaments; or once I made teams up using different criteria and played round robins (I actually did a precursor to the World Baseball Classic back in the early 90's with teams based on nationality; also - one team made up strictly of players with my name or variations - Brian Leonard Smith - guys like Bryn Smith, Lonnie Smith, Ozzie Smith, Len Matuszek, Leo Gomez, Lenny Dykstra, Brian McRae, Dave Smith, Dwight Smith, Lee Smith, Pete Smith, Roy Smith, Zane Smith, Jeffrey Leonard, Brian Harper, Lenny Harris, Brian Downing, Bryan Harvey, Charlie O'Brien. It actually was a pretty decent team. Boy, did I have a lot of free time, but it was a blast.

LOL that's pretty cool that you could come up with a whole team of guys with variations of your name. Right now I'm thinking of starting a league of pretty much the top ten players at each position. I have to figure out a way of doing draft order so I don't always give myself the best player. I am giving myself RJ though. 8)

Me and my Bro played the full 1975 baseball and the 81 foot ball season ( I think). took us multiple years... but had a blast. got about a third of the way trought basketball 78 I think, but lost interest. I now have the 2002 game and play at my leisure. no matter how you do it... it is a blast.

Nice to know there were other freaks like myself out there. It's a wonder I ever got a date.
