For those who are new to the on-line version I urge you to purchase a 5 pack of teams , 100 bucks, and start learning the set.

Also, you will have access to this link which you should use as your basic guide...

When you have done that use the link I posted earlier to Marcus Wilbey's newbie thread....I can't urge you strongly enough to read this thread!!!

Re: draft site update

Postby Ninersphan » Thu Apr 03, 2008 1:27 pm

[quote:5544f37861="Ninersphan"]The draft site is up and working, all of you should sign on, (and change your password if you want to), and then load the picks you have already made as proxies.

if you have any questions on how to do this ask.
But the best way to do it is to play around on the site and figure it out. I'd like to migrate the draft off the boards and over to the draft site by the end of the week if possible.[/quote:5544f37861]

PLEASE load your and prioritize your draft picks form the boards as proxies in the order you drafted them. That will preserve the correct draft order on the draft site.

Should I just start filing the divorce paperwork now? :?

Seriously, I do have a general understanding of the board game, although it's been quite awhile. I have read through many of the links you have all suggested, although I can't say I've had the chance to study in great detail. I'm hoping not to bomb too badly. My sense is this will work quite differently than Diamond-Mind...

I am surprised you're limited strictly to the positions on the card. That's pretty unusual, at least in my experience, but it is what it is. Guess I better get a CF, eh?

Ok, so we are offically using the somdraft site now? I've set my proxies by players I've drafted by round, so I think I'm set up OK.

Question: Will the draft picks for the current rounds be on hold until everyone enters their previous picks as proxies? Right now, braycon is up on the somdraft site. Will the draft site redraft everything as we did it here, taking three hours between picks?

We'll "officiallly" be on the site once everyone's prior picks are loaded until then we have to continue here too.

Once everyone gets their proxies loaded for all of their picks that they have made on the boards, they will all fire, in rather short order and we will be caught up. It takes no time once the proxies are loaded.

Even though we are making good time on the boards, using the site will be great, trust me. It kkeps trak of who's left, shows you who everyone has, how much you've spent, and best of all, allows for private proxies.

And a SS, you DO NOT want to play the stone gloved Ramirez in the field, he's strictly a DH in Strat, with that 4 rating.

Okay, let's talk about this.

How large a penalty for Ramirez are we talking? I certainly didn't spend my first draft pick thinking DH.

Having a 4 range SS is a killer. You definitely don't want to play him in the field except in a backup role.

That said, Ramirez was a solid pick for you. The combination of his age, talent, possible position change in the future, etc. make him a highly valued commodity. I would have taken him in a heartbeat, and have him on a couple keeper teams. He'll do fine at DH until he gets a field rating good enough to use.
