Okay, here's the mantra you're going to start ( get sick of  )hearing from me.

[quote:30a1fda5e6="BBY"]as long as you don't change the draft order for the prospect draft, I think by the rules that I get to go first with that too :D[/quote:30a1fda5e6]

Correct, that also will obviously have to be done on the boards as there are no uncarded players on the site  .

I suggest starting your research for the prospect draft ASAP. Remember:

Prospect = a player in the system of an MLB team that has [b:30a1fda5e6] NO PRIORMLB expierence.[/b:30a1fda5e6] That means guys like Jacoby Ellsbury and Luke Hochevar are [b:30a1fda5e6]NOT eligible [/b:30a1fda5e6]for the prospect draft this year either.

That said we are getting to the point in the draft where I may start asking if any of you are intrested in trading next years picks for this years

What did you have in mind niners for your next pick or two as far as pick/s next year? It would be nice if everyone loaded a few proxies and we knocked out like 3-4 rounds like that.

Alright, run me through the proxy process. I don't know that I understand how this is supposed to work.

[quote:994b30c466="klx22"]You go to create a proxy, do a search for the player, enter his number and the round, and then hit create proxy.[/quote:994b30c466]

You could put in as many players for as many rounds as you'd like

Click on Create Proxy.

Brings up a menu for you to search the player database.

Plug in a player's name if you know who you want to add to the proxy list or a position if you want to see who is available.

Once you have a name you want. Plug the Player number in (like you did yesterday for your draft picks) and set a priority and whether you want to delete the pick if one of these players in this group are picked by you..

In other words, lets say you want a SP, and you have it narrowed down to 3 guys. You find the 3 you want, assign them to the same group ( or round) in the order you prefer 1-2-3 If you check YES to the remove if group picked. once your pick comes up and one of the three from the group is taken for you all the rest that you checked YES to for REMOVE IF GROUP PICKED disappear and the proxies jump to the next group for your next pick.

Now you don't have to group by postion.

Lets use my last pick as an example:

I listed Ainkel, Cabrear and Youklis in group 1 cause I wanted all 3 guys in that order.. I did NOT check remove if picked, so I missed out on Ainkiel, (cause splinter took him  ) . so the proxy went to my next player in my rankings for group 1, and took Cabrera.
Now I still had Youklis in my group, so when my next pick came up the draft selected Youklis. If I had slected REMOVE IF GROUP PICKED Youklis would have disappeared from my proxy list once I got Cabrera. and then the computer would have moved to the highest ranked player in my Group 2. The same would have happend if Youklis was taken by BBY before my pick came up.

Get it. if not keep asking questions.

You actually don't need to put in a round. If you leave the round at "0", the proxy will fire no matter what round it is. Just rank them using the priority numbers.

Sorry, a very busy day today at work and I don't think I'm explaining my question very well. I understand what the proxy is supposed to do. I guess I don't really understand the mechanics.

I go to "Create A Proxy" and I understand I can list names of players I want. But do I have to enter the round for the players? Do I enter several players for each round or do I enter one list with no round and the computer just picks the first available guy?

If everyone does enter proxies, am I going to get a chance to update my choices, or is the computer just going to buzz through several rounds and I don't get a chance to make adjustments?

Again, apologies - I'm not trying to be naive/ignorant, but wanted to know what I'm doing before I do something stupid and really do end up with Russ Adams in round 12.

I appreciate the input. Seriously, I will get this figured out eventually.

Exactly, but rounds let you put the same player in differnt groups if you assign them to different rounds. At least I beleive they do, I NEVER do it that way other then one time I was away for 2 days during a draft and I had to list about 10 rounds worth of proxies, so I don't remember if it works or not.
