Nice touch that the Bear Cubs manager dropped the lone pitcher who won a game for the team.

If I was in that league, I would be P!SSED OFF. First, if I'm in the East or the Central, my Wild Card chances are greatly diminished because the West teams get to beat up on the Bear Cubs regularly. If I'm in the West, I'm angry because the guy is making a mockery of the game.

Fields

Postby TomSiebert » Sat Apr 05, 2008 7:26 pm

Ouch. I really thought he would stick around through the autodraft for a potential platoon w/ Chipper.

glad I could be of cervix. once hanrahan went, I couldn't risk fields getting away, especially with a pair of bomber parks already, including one in my division.
sarge, I don't really get the fenway pick...c. lee, fielder, are not gonna be pleased, but will love tom and cal's parks....

Strategery...?

Postby TomSiebert » Sat Apr 05, 2008 8:05 pm

I think we're going to see at least one blockbuster deal from the Sarge before the season starts for a *Starter for one of those big bats. He's got solid defense throughout the IF, good OBA, and duplicates in RF. With no pitchers drafted at all yet, I've got to guess there's a big trade in the offing before opening day. durantjerry has already got at least one stud starter too many.....

If you look at the make-up of my team they are Hitters with High BA High, On-Base, High Doubles with some pop and good at the Hit & Run and Fenway works well for that and the team should hit on the road. It should help my pitching staff as well.

As for the NCAA, I had all 4 teams in the Final Four with Memphis and NC playing for the title, Kanas took care of that. SGT D

Well the hitters are taken care of and getting Damon to sub in LF for Lee late in games was good (He has no arm) for defense and he can hit if the games go Xtra Innings. SGT D

Damon

Postby TomSiebert » Sun Apr 06, 2008 7:01 am

I think Damon is underpriced -- can sub all over, runs great, power both ways, solid OBA -- and was hoping he'd linger (along with Fields) for the autodraft. All these guys going in the live draft has me seriously reconsidering my final pix at the turn, which I thought were a total lock earlier. VERY glad I took Citizen's BP when I did....

Send proxies to Al and Tom for Rounds 15 and 16 -- I'll be out with my son most of the day.

I may be one of the few with no real interest in the NCAAs. Once my alma mater was realistically eliminated (about six minutes into the first round, after having been held scoreless by Stanford) I lost interest. Too much baseball stuff going on.
