Dave Johnson solid at 2B and Brant Alyea with 32 HRs at a very very reasonable price

Wise, Don Wilson, McAuliffe, DiLauro, Lindy McDaniel (for the price), Northrup, Hondo. Probably the most obscure surprise is Woody Held, when platooned against righties, in a hitter's park. He hit 34 homers, all against righties, for me.

MiddTenn mentioned Brent Alyea. Currently he has 5 pinch hit homers for me, after only a couple of weeks.

Bateman has done suprisingly well as backup and PH and sold on Hoerner as closer Roy White fantastic but have to give him full season and of course Pepitone There is something about that fool in all these games Playing him on another site and hes doing great there also He costs but Larry Dierker has won a lot of games for me and like Blass for the price

Nolan Ryan to me is the biggest surprise

Postby ckdragn » Wed Jan 18, 2006 5:26 pm

My first season he was hit and miss. He pitched me one no - no then get lit for 7 - 8 runs. This season so far he's :
Ryan, Nolan R
W L S IP//// H ER BB SO ERA WHIP
5 0 0 63.0 33/19/21/70/2.72/0.86

The only drawback I have is he needs 4 days rest. But for the price, under $4M you can't beat it.

Scott Northey at $1.12 is a pretty good deal.

Jim Ray Hart: Another Good, Cheap Platoon vs. LH pitching

Postby TomSiebert » Thu Jan 19, 2006 11:25 am

Limited experience, but he's reliable and solid for 68 cents, usually in the DH role, platooning with Fiore on my otherwise underperfoming squad.

For the money, ray culp has been my best pitcher on a few teams. he does really well in fenway.
