Hey Guys,

thought I'd start this and see if anyone's up for commenting on the league.

As I mentioned in my earlier email, we got the short end on our pitching and then made simultaneous trades that left my SPs still with two * pitchers! Oh well, we're happy to get Roberts out of the deal.

Anyone else got some thoughts?

This is my first 2007 team. I did get most of the guys that I wanted. I am (obviously) going with mediocre pitching with some homerun hitters in a homer friendly park. I am hoping that my strong up the middle infield defense and Molina behind the plate will somewhat offset the crummy pitching. We will see.

Good idea with the message board....

The Hellyeahs are in their 2nd year and 3rd team.... Still prefer the roll of the dice but this is the one place where I can play with my brother (Woodbury) and an old friend (Hammonton)... We had a dice league back in the late 80's and early 90's....

As far as this Hellyeah team... My pitching looks pretty strong and I have a decent starting lineup.... My bench and bullpen will be a question mark but we will make out adjustments and see what happens...

Good Luck to everyone!!!!

My First 2007 team also. It will be an interesting team. Kind of balanced with pretty good speed. Not a lot of power (but, hey, we're in Busch)

Our pitching is worse than we had hoped as we didn't get much of our SPs and had to go to a mediocre 5 man staff. Hopefully Verlander can lead the way. We're going to give up a lot of HRs. Hopefully there won't be a lot of guys on base.

I think we're going to need Bell to eat up a ton of innings and pitch well.

I'm trying to figure out the Hellyeahs. Good first 3 sps. Pen is also deep, but the defense isn't all that stellar.

Millersville OTOH can really pick the ball up. Solid if not spectacular sps. Only one real good RP. Has some power for sure.

That was a lot of fun playing live, I'll really miss that. I guess things haven't changed much, I went for offense

In fact, I had to do some serious roster shuffling to get another hitter in the lineup (Renteria). I want to load my lineup and not use my bench, but I guess that looks obvious. For the money I spent, I guess I can't complain a whole lot about my pitching. But I'll get back to y'all when my Team ERA is 8, and my Team BA is .200.

edit: This is my first year and first team playing online, but as Jim said, we played this and football for several years, a while back.

Jack, Hammonton Tornadoes.

I just dropped Ortiz and Beltre and picked up A-Rod and Konerko. In other words, I gave up players who hit a combined 61 homeruns for players who hit a combined 85. I have good speed too. The question is will I win more 9-8 games than I lose. I don't know the answer to that yet.

I guess I am going to have to try to out-hit you, my power numbers are more modest, but my starting 9 have a team batting average of .307.
To my opposition, it might seem like they are being nibbled to death by a duck

I'm still playing FTF. In fact, we have our draft tonight. Kind of tough sometimes juggling the on-line with the FTF, but it's still fun to get together and roll the dice. Although, I can't roll the 20 sided for spit.

Might be willing to deal Zito if someone's looking for a * starter.
