ATG III Half-Team Keeper League - Season IV (8) Concluded!!

Postby rjohaire » Mon Apr 14, 2008 1:59 pm

If we go with v2 - how do we handle the 30 players that were added (I assume they're not on one of the teams) So can u draft them?

Does anyone have a list of the 30 players that were added and what players were eliminated (or was a player only eliminated if the new player was on an existing team?)

Below is the list of new faces in ATG III v2.

It would seem that some team choices would be hurt in a minor way, SF 62, maybe CIN 75, maybe PIT 71, maybe STL 64, others are seldom used or are value players.

Suggest 2 rounds of draft, serpentine, where you can select these players. The 2 left over are not available to anyone.

Remember also that PRICING for most/all existing players also changes.

As you can drop/add teams, not one gets stuck with the short end. V.2 IMHO has a deeper talent pool and makes the game more competitive. I would like to see this change.

I like Scott's plan. Another thought would be to allow an option to participate in the two-round new player draft instead of taking an 8th team.

Just trying to complicate things.

or put the changed card players on their original ATG III team and then either ignore the other 12 players or stick them on a team that is closest to the team they played for -

I see they are going to pull the plug on v1.
Anyone have any idea when?
Would hate to do this draft and then they pull the plug and we have to do it over.

if it IS going to v2 I like Scott's plan - having 2 rounds of drafting the new players and tossing the rest into the unused pile- then continuing with our regular draft and again I would do this NFL style based on the final Season 1 result

If some of the new players are simply players whose cards have changed, then I do not feel they should be drafted seperately.

Rather the current owner of the 1/2 team that they are on should have the right to use these new player(s) if they choose to keep that 1/2 team. Otherwise if the team is dropped, then the new owner of said 1/2 team, if the 1/2 team gets re-drafted, would get to use them.

If sschu's list is correct, then there are 12 players who do not currently belong to an existing ATG III team. The only vote we should have is whether these 12 players should be used or not. My vote would be NO as they do not belong to a 1/2 team. However I could live with a 1 round 12 player draft, done with a random order.

Nonetheless, I am against allowing players like Pete Rose, Ron Carew, and so forth be taken from their current 1/2 teams and drafted individually as that goes completely against the theme.

Personally I think it might be best to stick with version I, but if they are going to stop allowing version I to be used, then we'll have no choice but to go to version II.

The problem is Pete Rose was on CIN 75 in V1 and is now CIN 69 in V2 and Winfield in V2 is now a SD 79 when he was a NYY 86 in V1.

Why would Rose be a 75 Red in V2 and how is Winfield handled?
