Slow Start?

Postby BRIANUTTERMARK » Fri Jan 20, 2006 4:51 am

12 games into my first online season and was wonderin. Do players "slump" or do you just have to wait for the "rolls" to go your way. I have A-Rod and he's hitting .163 with no homers. He's a glaring hole in what could be a dangerous line-up. So I was wonderin does HAL take into account slumps or am I crazy?

Players to have slumps in SOM just like in real baseball. Don't do anything rash after only 12 games with ARod. He will come around.

Wasnt gonna do anything stupid. Should I consider sitting "slumping" players during the season for a game or two. Does that do anything?

I guess I was trying to see if "slumping" was part of HAL's tendencies or not?

Just remember, just like real baseball, players could have a poor season
because of bad rolls.
Statistics say, over time, it should even out, but if you move a player around in a lineup, remember, it changes probability outcomes.

Bad Rolls

Postby BRIANUTTERMARK » Fri Jan 20, 2006 4:52 pm

When I was building my team in the preseason I looked at a lot of teams in Records Posting Thread and kinda saw a little of that. I'm not to worried about A-Rod but was just curious as to things I could do to help a "slumping" player during this season.

As it is right now A-Rod is 3rd in my line-up followed by Sheffield and Konerko. They are off to good starts and I really had no intentions of moving A-Rod out of the 3rd spot.

Do you have a better hitter suited for the 3 hole? :)

The card is the card. Sitting them will not change anything.

Had a team that was 15-40 or so and hitting right about .200 turn it around and make the playoffs. Somethings the rolls are just against you.

I'm 6-6 right now, not looking too bad I guess. Would have at least 3 more wins with A-Rod hitting, but hopefully eveyone else will still be hitting when he gets going. Thank god for my pitching, I'm leading the league, or else who knows what my record would be :?
