I Need Some Help...I Think

Postby kodak4117 » Fri Jan 20, 2006 3:58 pm

After winning 3 rings in a 4 season span, I figured I had a good handle on things. Then reality set in my last two teams have really been bad.

As far as this early season team, I have had to increase the health insurance since these guys get hurt every other game. Anyway, I have a Yankee '27, Griffith '24, and Municipal '54 in my division.

I have been playing around with lineups but can't seem to click. Maybe too early to panic, but I don't want to get too far behind.

Anyone with any ideas.

Do not let Key or Tincup pitch and you'll be doing fine!!!

Not seeing your batting order it is kinda hard.

I assume Honus is leading off? Maybe hit Schalk in the 2 hole, Williams third, Ripper cleanup, Mol, Ott,

Seems like you coulda used another big bat.

Your 6 7 8 9 hitters slugging % can't be all that great.

I would say you are a bit underpowered for a $100M league. Here are your numbers:

OBP vs RH 0.437
SLG vs RH 0.412
OPS vs RH 0.849
HR Rate vs RH 2.3
BPHR vs RH 29

OBP vs LH 0.450
SLG vs LH 0.410
OPS vs LH 0.860
HR Rate vs LH 1.3
BPHR vs LH 18

Decent OBP, but way low SLG. Actuals are 3.96 RPG, ERA over 4, not a good start, you are probably lucky to be one under. .365 team SLG is bad news, you are in for a long season IMHO.

Not many options, trading Pete or McLain for a bat is probably your only chance. Your pen is too deep, McKain is bad fit, not much on the wire.

Sorry, FWIIW, sschu

You have played 21 of your first 33 on the road. Your best hitter Ted Williams has missed several games. You are in a DH league and you have too much bullpen help. This is why you are struggling near .500. Don't do anything until you get to 60 games and have a better handle on how your team is doing since a 20% hit will not allow you to upgrade in reality. However you should put Key on quick hook. Martinez should be your closer for both Righties and lefties. That's what I would do anyway with Quiz as RH setup and McCain as LH setup. Closer Normal, Bullpen Normal.

Listen to Charlie, he is much more of an optimist than me! :) BTW, I would agree, hang on till at least game 80, drops are a death warrant, especially early in the season.
