The Original USKL -- TSN Version 2011 (Chat Room)

[quote:ef786b218f="Cubit"]Anyone want to turn their tender analytical skills to my club's disastrous performance thus far? Injuries have played their part, especially in key series, but that usually evens out. I know the pitching I've had so far is truly awful and I have to look at Beckett's 1-9 start and shudder...

Like CaseyBats, ballpark choice may be decisive here. I wish I could swap ballbarks with you Casey....[/quote:ef786b218f]

Don't know about your team but I'm glad to see you on the boards, I've sent you a message via league mail for the HCKL league that you haven't as yet reponded too. I"ll send you a PM here

Cube - I think your park is fine. Check out the stats on your 4 LHPs (not including Feliciano) - I think it tells pretty much the whole story. Your run production is solid, but your LH SPs are getting crushed, and Hampson has pitched a ton of innings in your pen at a really horrible WHIP, inflating your SPs' ERAs. HAL tends to bring in a LH RP after a LH SP, and it's obvious to me he's bringing in Hampson to follow Pettitte or Perez when you would like him to bring in Heilman.

I would trade or demote at least 1 of the LH SPs and take Hampson off your active roster or set him as "mop-up". That may help.

Anyway, you know me, I'm Mr. Lefty, but I try to have only 1 or 2 LH RPs max, and you have 3, and 2 of them are R2 or R3, so they'll get used much more than you'd like. I'd try to deal them. I'll take Pinto off your hands if you like! :D

And now the Frank Thomas saga takes an ugly turn with Frank getting released by the Blue Birds.

I refuse to comment on the situation but we wish Frank Thomas the best. Hopefully a new team will come knocking.

Yeah I just saw this- I guess they really pissed him off. I am a big Frank Thomas fan, and if only we didn't already have 3-4 DHs, I would want the Yankees to sign him!

Thanks QK. It never hurts to hear frank and honest critique. You know, you're totally right about HAL's use of the LHP relievers. I had such good luck with some of them in the past, but have not stayed on top of my club's on field performance.

"HAL tends to bring in a LH RP after a LH SP."

Absolutely true, and its my biggest complaint about the game engine. They've made HAL far better, but the game engine can't seem to grasp the concept of alternating righty/lefty pitching.

Hey gang,

If there is anyone out there that does NOT think that last year's consensus number one prospect -- 22 year old Delmon Young -- is a bust, then please contact me for a possible trade.

Hint, I am one of those that does NOT think that, but I already have Dunn, and with Berkman, Pena and now Cabrera TOO at 1B, I have need for a 3B.

Thanks,

Sandy

The Sandlot Shrinks Unlimited have traded the aforementioned Delmon Young to the Talking Green Apes in exchange for Edwin Encarnacion.
