Mesquiton,

I won't hide that I like Everett. But in Lilly, you can have your anchor *SP for your Shea team. I strongly believe that, for the same quality, you will have to spend much more in getting non-SP for Shea than in having Lilly 40 starts and buy a cheaper rotation for the rest of the season, and with Buehrle that you recently drafted, and no more *SP of quality for Shea-designed stadiums--or at least none that I can see---We're talking about 80 quality starts.

Clayton won't hurt you in Shea (I had him fourth in my priorities ss-list, after Rollins, Izturis, and Everett), and he's a 600AB+, so you won't have to hire a quality replacement.

So, in my opinion, between these two options:

Lilly + 2 other cheap *SP (1.5M each, on average) + Clayton = 11M, with 5M left to spend on relief\catchers

4 non *SP (2M) + Everett + quality replacement = 11.5M

the first one will give you much more....

Lilly and Clayton for Everett and your next pick, and it's a done deal.

Also, don't forget that we have to draft 25 players, but we can play with 23 players only.

If you fear to go over 80M with 25 players, but feel safe to respect the cap with 23 players, then we can include in our deal an arrangement.

I could draft your future catcher, or a future reliever, and you could draft a cheap player i'm looking for, and we could complete the deal after the draft is done. This will give you up to 1.5 M to breathe...

Lucky: I've been thinking along similar lines...maybe we can make it work, but I think I'd need to keep my next 2 picks...gotta leave now for an hour (or less) will decide and let you know for sure when I return.

mesquito: what about: you give me your next, and I'm gonna give you my following pick, such that you have two picks in round 14?

Tell me quick, because I'm next to pick....

So I would give up:

Lilly..........for........your last (18th) pick
Clayton................Everett
my 14th round.......your 13th round

...with possible future compensation (eg. taking my 16th round to pick a player you want, and trading him to you after draft is done).

I'll make my pick at 9.30 max otherwise.

Mesquiton, Mulder for your next pick perhaps?

I'd need to see where we are when your pick comes due.
