Do you rest players prior to playoffs

Do you rest players prior to playoffs

In one league I have a six game lead with 6 games to play. If I were to wrap up the division tonight, shouldn't I rest my best starting pitchers, and several important hitters?

I don't think it's necessary to rest starting pitchers. I would rest players that can get injured for more than 3 games.

Depends how my guys are playing. If they're on a roll, I let 'em play...15 gamers or not. If they're slumping, I'll sit a few guys. If I know who I'm going to play against in the Semi's, I might adjust my rotation to get my best matchup for pitchers.

It makes sense to rest the high injury risk guys, BUT I never do that. I just try to see how well my team record can end up and hope for no injuries. Can't say I've really got burnt by it yet either

I'll make sure my SP staff will be ready so that my #1 can pitch the first game.

Also anyone who is a 15 game risk I will sit if possible.

I am debating the same question in the 70's game. I have 107 wins with nine to go and 2nd best ever is 110, which I'd like to pass. I have some secondary players with a plus injury risk, including my only 2 rated CF and my slugging catcher(.354/120 RBI). I have gotten burned bad in the past. In a recent 70's league, I had Oliva with about 130+ RBI in a lh park. I fell asleep that Friday and didn't change my lineup. Not sure if I would have caught it anyway, as I may of assumed 600 PA's because he had played in all 159 games to that point. Of course he goes down in game 160 and misses whole semi-final series. I ended up sweeping and then losing the finals in which he was able to play, but I think you should rest key <600 PA guys up by six with six to go. As I say that I'm considering playing mine, but you have nothing to gain. I would sit them tonight. I don't sit 600 PA guys though. They would have to get the max three gamer in game 162 for it to matter in the playoffs.

It really comes down to what is your most important goal. Is it to break some regular season record/try to get most wins that you can vs giving your team the best opportunity to win the championship.

credits or credit

It really depends on what your goals are. I had a team that was closing in on 100 wins and I have never done that. Nevertheless I benched all my high injury guys and ended up with 99 wins. I did win the championship though. Basically I want the credits more than the credit.
