Do you ever start the season with over a million dollars in reserve for emergencies or just to pick up someone that another team may drop? Just wondering cuz I have just over a Mil left and not sure what to do with it...spend it or keep it for an emergency. What do you guys like to do?

Some people frown upon keeping money in the bank, they say, everybody else is at 80 million, but your only at 79.....

How much that 1 buck makes a difference, I dont know.

Maybe, lets see a team link, and maybe some of us, could come up with a way to spend that last buck of yours......

Almost makes me feel like my wife, getting to spend someone elses money and all :P

LOL that's funny. :D

Yeah I'm open to suggestions...I'm pretty much lost on what to do with that last Mil. Here's my team. Keep in mind that Rivera is my regular closer. Percival is there to eat up some innings with Gordon and to close when Rivera can't.

Wow, simple place to spend it!!

Any shea's, Wrigleys, or predomently lefty/righty hitting teams?

Since I am not in the league, I am sure that both Downs, and Sosa are available, they are both cheap, viable options for a spot starter for that 5 man rotation you have.

Plus, in the end, one of them might give you flexablility going into the PO's. If you locked up a playoff position, and the last nite, you want to rest a starter for the upcoming first round, just slap one of them in there and rest that much needed starter for the first round.

I think I would take the 1.1 mil you have and the 1.7 for Percival and try to find an R2 to pitch when your starters get yanked early. Somebody who will eat innings when you are behind and keep you in the game. Gordon and Riske can close when and if Mariano gets tired.

Also, is this a DH league? If not, I think Higginson is too expensive to be on your bench and if so, I might try to upgrade him, since Im not sold on him as a starting RF.

Good luck!

I agree with Worrierking. Not counting Rivera you have too many R1 pitchers. Upgrade one of them to an R2 or R3 pitcher with the rest of your money is what I would do.

Thanks for the advice guys. The best I could do over Higginson was Michael Tucker so I took him. But I just want to let you know that you can try him sometime. He is doing amazingly well for me on another Petco team...one of the only guys with a high avg. and OBP on it.

I picked up Capuano for Shea and Cerrano for Fenway. Also picked up Qualls as he's an R2. Guess this is the team I'll sail with. thanks again.
