I posted the following suggestion in the suggestions section. Curious what you all think:
The 162 game schedule with no days off inhibits the ability of managers to move SPs around so that certain starters start against certain teams. In this way, SOM does not mirror real baseball. Adding say 10 offdays to a season would allow us to jigger our staffs so that we can start certain starters again certain teams.
Of course, having an extra starter or adept use of 5 starters with a couple of *SPs allow some flexibility but its more limited.
I find that most managerial input occurs during the draft with a little tinkering for injuries, maybe substituting a player for an unbalanced starter or changing steal etc ratings based on catcher. But for the most part, there is little skill after the season starts imo.
This could add a new wrinkle which would increase our managerial input.
The off day of course could be imaginary and would not require adding any actual calendar days to the season.
