Heath Bell is pitching. He entered the game in the 6th. inning, striking out Crisp to end the inning. He strikes out the side in the 7th AND the 8th.

Bell: Avoid before the 6th, slow hook, IBB less. Setup both ways.

FRod: Avoid before the 8th, IBB less, slow hook. Close both ways.

Rodney. Moehler and Schoeneweiss are in the pen, fully rested.

with striking out the side he's not fatigued and it is not a closer situation as yet.

that's my take. why he is in after the HBP i don't know.

because Bell fatigues is better than FRod fresh :P

That's a personal opinion, which I belive as well.

But, HAL is not a person. Bell should be at his fatigue point no?

Does a HBP enter into fatigue, or just hits and walks?

HBP does not count towards fatigue. It's Manny's double that activated his fatigue.

Fatigue occurs after his R2 expired AND he has not triggered 3 walks/hits in the same inning or 2 walks/hits in consecutive innings.
