One little problem, that makes your active Roster 41 players. Fukodome was a prospect and not part of the 40 man squad, so you now need to drop a player to get to 40 because you picked up to active players and only traded 1 away.

It leaves cshannajr at 39 player, but that is no problem.

BTW, wish I knew the price for Fukudome was so inexpensive. :shock:

and klx22 has cornered the LF market, it leaves him with 6 after this deal, altough I guess Bonds is really a DH

I am going to drop Dontrelle Willis to get my roster back to 40. I may have over paid to get Francoeur, but Vlad was killing me in RF.

I've never seen a leauge so tough to get a deal done. So, I figure I can get a good young RF to help my team now (I'm only one game back and I'm tired of losing games by one run on an E by my RF) and he is young enough to be a staple in my OF for a long time.

We'll see what happens. :?

BTW, FWIW, not that I had what you were looking for but I don't know how you can say the whole league is tough to deal with, when I didn't even know you were looking to make a deal.
As I said had I known Fukodome could be had, I'd have talked to you, no doubt. :wink:

I will say the general lack of trade talk or any talk for that matter since play began is a little disappointing. I'm hoping as the season progresses and we get closer to the trade deadline, we'll see a little more action.

I've got an opinion on the lack of trades happening in this league. The initial deals I was offered were definitely one sided deals, as in one team gets screwed while the other team makes out like a bandit. It seemed like some of the strat vets were looking to take advantage of rookies IMO. I'm not complaining about it, it just is what it is. It doesn't hurt to offer Rajai Davis for Johan Santanna, just for the entertainment value alone. But that atmosphere may have made folks hesitant to offer trades by leading them to believe that making a reasonable deal wasn't possible. We now see that that is not the case based on the Bonds deal.

Naturally everyone is holding on tight to those guys 1) are good 2) are young right now, not surprising. Hopefully this Bonds deal will wake everyone up to making deals that make sense. With that said, I will entertain offers for any player on my team at this point. If you see a player you think can help you out drop me a line and we'll see what we can work out.

no offense intended ninersphan. i was looking to improve defensively at RF & 3B. Hawpe wouldn't help very much and i figured wright was untouchable. so, i didn't think we could get very far in trade talks.

i do concur with bby, though. when all you get is rip-off offers, there isn't going to much talk. if i'm going to trade, i'm going to need an offer (or counter) that will improve my team is some way. i would imagine everyone else would feel that way too. why else would you make the deal?

maybe as we all get to each other better over the seasons, things will open up a little.

Just for clarification, I don't mean to sound bitter about the trade situation in this league. I have had far more good trade offers and discussions than I have had bad ones. Just because nothing came of any of the trade talks doesn't make me angry or anything, at the very least good information was gathered.

It might help if all trades and trade offers were posted here. Then all could see what is going on and we could become more active.
