'The Naturals' Keeper League Season XII - Using V2 Pricing

Postby spicki17 » Thu May 08, 2008 8:18 am

i have a question for the group. typically i am fine with the better teams getting the lower steal picks and getting the lower draft picks each round, as it keeps the league interesting, and if you really want someone, you can just protect them.

with the release of the new atg3v2 players, im curious if anyone else thinks there should be a 1 round draft of these players decided by a randomizer? the reason i ask this is because it seems everyone should have a shot at sitting 1st and getting the best of the new players, it shouldnt just fall under the typical draft.

im not saying there is another mantle or mays in this new group of players, but if someone feels that one of these new players is truly a franchise player, is it really fair to just hand those franchise players over to the worst performing teams last season?

what does everyone think?

I agree with those sentiments, spicki17, good thinking, and would have no problem with that approach. That does seem more fair in this instance.

And does anybody want either Joe Dimaggio or Duke Snider? You can look at my roster and see my needs pre-draft. Thanks.

I could go with that suggestion as well.

And yes, I may be interested in Dimaggio...

I don't have a problem with that either...assuming that everyone wants a new player.

I don't pay attention to this stuff at all anymore. Can anyone point me in the direction of a list of the new players in the set?

Thanks.

Why don't we have the randomized extra round for new players after the regular draft? That way if someone doesn't want one of the new players, they can pass. It also means depending on your randomized draft spot, you would obviously have to drop someone on your team to that point since most of the new players have a higher price tag.

It doesn't make any difference to me if we have a separate round with randomized draft position for the new players. Maybe we should announce if we will be dropping one of our keepers to sign the new player. That way the autodraft would be a bit more exciting. For instance, if I draft Gibson in the separate round new player draft, and I announce I'd be dropping Koufax to make salary cap room...maybe spicki17 would want to put Koufax on his autodraft list. :P

Several have voiced their opinion regarding how to handle the situation with the new players. I'll go with the majority as I have no strong feelings on this issue one way or the other.

I'll go create a poll with a couple of options.

Please let me know if I skipped a good option.
