Man lotta writing - [b:82a3bd3bf5]luckyman [/b:82a3bd3bf5]posted a veritable manifesto on the previous page. For what its worth, I've also got Rolen, L.Walker, and Greinke among the top values. For various reasons, they're alll extremely desirable and luckyman's targeting them certainly makes sense to me.
[b:82a3bd3bf5]ck[/b:82a3bd3bf5], I think you led the league in head-scratcher picks. Trot Nixon w/ a #4? ...Hollandsworthless with a #10? ...and I'll get to the Billy Wagner is god business in a minute.
luckyman and I were arguing about the value of the top R1/C5-6. I like the cards, but I don't think you get enough effective innnings from an R1 to make value comparable to a stud R2 like Tom Gordon. luckyman made the point that in a low offense environment, the expected IP of R1 & R2 should be much closer. I'm willing to buy that, but I still wouldn't pick Foulke OR Wagner that high.
Wagner like Foulke is an R1, but he's also a hard lefty. Data from my leagues (and an analysis of rosters in this league) indicate Wags will face only around 25% LHB. Sure its a nice card, but not one that gets my [i:82a3bd3bf5]Total Splattershot [/i:82a3bd3bf5]rating.
Enough talk about cristano's team since Mr. Irrelevant is going to be buried in 4th place anyway. [b:82a3bd3bf5]etdefender[/b:82a3bd3bf5] remains true to form as the most right-handed manager in the universe. I like the Vaz pick - a killer in PETCO. I've got to correct luckyman here -- I think [b:82a3bd3bf5]Woods[/b:82a3bd3bf5] is the reigning champ, so I think he's the man to beat. I'm still wondering why Woods picked both Juan Pierre AND Endy Chavez? ...is J.Pierre the DH?
Was there any skepticism of my Helton pick? I LOVE Helton! I'll wait until the autodraft runs to finish handicaping the league... Good luck fellas! :D
