I stand corrected and you are right. I misread read his stats on the Baseball reference.com Hall monitor. He right now stands at a score of 58, which 50 is the average for a hall of famer, so his chances are better than 50/50 he will eventually make it if he continues his current hitting pace. As unfair as it is, 500 homeruns is still the standard for Hall certainty, except for obviously the steroid boys, so we will see. His lack of Gold Gloves and All-star appearances are offset by his hiting. He pales to Dawson in those categories who I think should be a hall-of-famer.
Of course a lot of baseball writers are idiots and his growing up in the steroid era may taint him.
