Can we renounce one of our keepers during this draft? Or do we have to wait until after the season begins? I checked the rules but didn't see anything there about this.

You can drop a keeper during the supplementary draft if you pick up a new carded player. Otherwise keepers must be held onto until post-autodraft.

No the Supplemental Draft is just a 1 round draft involving the new carded players that appeared with ATG III Version II. Right now it is just the normal 6 round FA Draft (NO newly carded players allowed to be drafted). See list below:
