off topic question...

Postby the splinter » Tue May 20, 2008 5:47 pm

since we have vast array of Strat generals here...I need an answer,

It was posted on the boards recently that when there are 2 outs all baserunners running rating increases by +2 based on the premise that they are running with the pitch.

I know I used this feature on certain versions of the board game back in the day but I don't know if it is applied here in the on-line version.

Can I get a confirmation?

well it looks like either way, those of us with crappy teams are screwed. unless we are lucky in waivers or fast in the frenzy.

so i don't care either way.......

got a better with the hill deal and picking up lee but my pitching still is not so fresh.

actually the order the waivers will likely be in will be West Division first..
as it is usually a last in / reverse in order of entering the league appraoch .. best of my recollection anyway..
fairest of course is continuing to draft for x number of rounds on the board in a surpentine order.. least fair is the frenzy given computer/ internet connection speed, those who get on first benefit the most.. those who have life get in their way , well.. frenzy just does not consider those people..

Only way this works frenzy wise is by just choosing a time that suits everyone. Say 9PM on a Thursday/Friday night. This gives the West Coast guys an opportunity to be involved. This is just my 2 cents and that goes for Splinters 2 cent brain.

Considering bobm1007's comments on extending the current draft by x rounds, if we make that a serpentine order, the guys with the worst records don't benefit much, as the serpentine selection evens things out.

Another suggestion, as I try to consider this while (supposedly) working-

What if each player can include up to 4 players (or 5) from the non-used teams (except those taken in this one round draft) on their draft card. Then waivers would work like they are designed to, rewarding those who miss on their picks. I think this is what we did when I played in this format last season.

Now that's a good idea!

Well I'm out playing some basketball for a couple of hours.

another way i've seen this done is to draft up to x rounds resetting the order by total salary available each time.

I agree with akindian that after the first round we should reset the draft based on salary.
