This means that I have chosen 5 more non-roster players via the draft...I will not be able to get to the required 8 until after waivers.

I would say based on the rules you need to have 8 total on your team at all times, including the draft card to be fair so you would have to drop some and replace them with your own team guys....it was in the rules that you can only have 8 at all times, sorry. You still have time to back out your team and redo the draft card.

So you are saying that my trades are void and I get my core team players back or that I've just wasted my aquisitions because the players are now(temporarly) ineligible? If you are saying that my aquirred players are still mine but I will have pick them back up during waivers then whats the difference?

I don't see were this is causing any unfair advantage. I will be at the proper roster ratio when waivers are activated. It is entirely possible that during the waiver period anyone of us could be temporarly over the limit while adjusting their rosters.

Not trying to be difficult but when the roster requirements were stated I assumed that the 8 max was from opening day forward and that prior to opening day rosters could be manipulated as needed.

Trades are valid, so I guess it is okay, just put your top 5 FAs first and then the rest of your core and trade acquired players. We are cool then if what we are saying is that having more than 5 non core players on your draft sheet (only if acquired via trade) will not give an unfair advantage in the autodraft?
