IMHO...

I'd say Maggs.

Slighly better hitting vs. LH's but still deadly vs. RH's.

ARod KILLS RH's but there's a big drop off vs. LH's.

I think the fact that A-Rod is much better against RH tilts it in his favor. In most leagues you will you face many more RHP, so that is a serious advantage. Plus I think A-Rod just has a lot more HR power. Maggs may produce a higher AVG, but I think Rodrigues will give more run production.

Small sample number, but in the 2 completed leagues I have been in, Arod has had 57 & 67 HR vs 21 & 24 for Magglio.

really it's apples to oranges, one has more HR, the other much higher BA, plus they play different positions...

You would at least need to ask ARod + RF or Mags + 3b so we can see which is better..

but I would have to go ARod myself, just because the HR's will be there. I've had Mags in one league end up with .289 .356 and 20 hr. For over 10 mil that's horrible, Arod will at least get you that plus 40+ HR.

I'd opt for ARod as well, gernerally, because he's a plus defender at a position that will see more defensive opportunities than Ordonez will. So even if they play in a park that negates some of ARod's power, he will still help more on the defensive side. There are 19 players with better defense than Ordonez, only 9 better than ARod.

Here are the top players by ops in our league after 147 games. Would choose A-rod under any scenario because of homeruns.

I'll let you draw your own conclusions off the stats, both used in every completed league I've been in except one, where Mags wasn't used. Though my remembrance of Mags is bad because he isn't doing what he does on some of these other teams.
