Curley Whiffle Field Frenzy Vote

Postby The Last Druid » Wed Jan 25, 2006 6:06 pm

I should get three votes: myself, Kriff and Nevdully's. We all vote to re-frenzy. Friday evening is our consensus preference.

And we wish to echo Frank Bailey's sentiment re TSN. Perhaps kinder, gentler hands now hold the reins. :)

Oh, one last request. Frank Bailey should be banned for life from ATG and forced to play on 200x games.

The redundant post was Kriff's fault. I've been having some trouble suppressing him lately.

To be honest, I would just as soon leave it alone, but I got the core of my team in the draft, and it is really pretty much inconsequential to me. So I vote no, but will not be heartbroken if I have to scramble around a little Friday, either. Before we redo this, however, I suggest everybody really look hard at their rosters and see if it really made that much difference. The pool of players is so vast that it is unusual one can't jury rig something which is fairly competitive, even after everybody else has picked over the free agents.

It doesn't matter much to me, either way. I kinda like my team as is.

I'm not in favor of a new frezny to try to improve my team. I just get a kick of scrambling through a frenzy while watching people dismantle and rebuild their teams in fast foward. :D

I missed the frenzy and may miss it again. But in fairness to all of the managers who signed up for a frenzy and didn't get the opportunity to do so at the time which other frenzies are available, then I think the frenzy should be done again. Since TSN is willing to do this again, then I vote to do so in order to make the playing field equal. I am not in favor of an agreed upon time BUT just another frenzy at the earliest time permitted by TSN with notice. That's my thoughts....Bobby

i vote no to the re-frenzy since it really wouldn't be much of one. i was the 4th guy in so i was able to see the first page of 100 transactions so it really doesnt seem all that fair. i know who im going after if we do though :)

seems that weve all spent quite a bit on teams and a free credit with a new league set up with a password for the 12 of us would be appropriate so we could enjoy a REAL frenzy:)

I think we can ALL get behind the free credit idea!

I only made 3-4 small roster changes after the draft as I pretty much got all that I wanted in the draft. So I think my team is very competitive as is. But that's not the point.

I have no idea who was initially available and thus who I missed out on. I don't care if someone else has more information based on what they saw of the early transactions. I believe that my ability to make instant assessments of available talent meshing with my needs more than counterbalances any disadvantage incurred by not seeing the early picks.

My main point is this: I have strong feelings about a level playing field and certainly don't want to reinforce the sentiments displayed by, for example, Arkinals. This functionally rewards asocial, perhaps even antisocial, behavior while punishing prosocial behavior (i.e. a cooperative effort to hold off on the frenzy).

Bottom line for me. It's a matter of principle.

Initially I was going to insist on a free credit or just boycott TSN (at least until ATG-III arrives ) except for multiseason leagues I have commited to. That's how pissed I was. But they have been very responsive to this issue. So now I don't actually want a free credit. I just want to kick the asses of the players who benefitted from jumping the gun on the frenzy and I want to do it with the team I drafted and should have been able to improve via a "fair" frenzy.

So Nico or Bernie, have we made a decision? Seems to be some varying opinions. Would like to know if we are going to re-frenzy this Friday or receive a free credit. Please let us know ASAP so we can plan accordingly. Thank you

From what I can tell, it looks like the best decision is to re-frenzy Friday night (early Saturday morning). This is what will happen:

- Your league will stay in its current limbo state until then
- Friday night/Sat morning at [i:5002746cb7]approximately[/i:5002746cb7] 12:15am ET your league will be reset to the original teams you received from the draft, and the frenzy starts anew. I'll post a message on the front office saying so.

Thanks.
