Hey - I just popped my cherry - first trade in a keeper league. I think I'll go have a beer. I don't think it necessarily makes my team better in the short run, but you never know.

Nice to hear some of the stories too. I have a two year old girl and I swear she will be valedictorian someday, and homecoming queen, and all-state whatever. But I certainly can wait and try to enjoy the ride.

Congrats klx on the pregnancy.

And Splinter - I teach AP Government and I know what a challenge those courses and tests are. Congrats to you.

Well boys, the 1st half of our 1st season is in the books. Any thoughts? Everyone seems very engaged and this will be a good league for a long time! :D

Aside from Strat, it's been a joy getting to know each of you a little as the season has progressed.

I'm sorely disappointed in this team. Willits is having the worst season I've ever seen him have for this card set, Johnson is also underperforming without those 2 setting the table my team has not scored the way I thought it would. The deal I just made will hopefully address that somewhat as Lewis may now become my leadoff hitter VS RH pitching. Shields was a bad fit for my park as evidenced by his record, hopefully Lackey can turn Shiueld's numbers around. Looking more closely though my record in 1 run games is KILLING me, 5-14, I turn half of those 14 losses into wins and I'm in the lead for the division. I just dropped Hampson, whom HAL was using to much (damned r3 and HAL's logic) and replaced him with Embree, hopefully that will reverse my luck in 1 run games.

I just hope I haven't dug myself to big a hole.

I've enjoyed the first half, as well. It's taken some getting used to and I certainly haven't gotten the kind of offensive performances I would hope for, although some of that is likely the result of all-star caliber teams with such a small league.

(I really am not a fan of playing guys substantially more than they played in real-life, but that's probably just me).

All in all, very interesting indeed.
