Don't get me wrong, I like the trading, but I wish there was a rule implemented as to the maximum number of non-franchise players we could have on our team. It appears there's so much trading going on that our teams are going to be slightly unrecognizable as far as our 2 franchises are concerned. I've been a part of this theme before where a rule like that was used. Just a thought I'm throwing out there.

Jeep, I agree. Shades of another franchise combo lg I was part of. What's the point of the "theme" if there is unlimited trading & GMs go bonkers, not that its reached that stage...yet. We get 2 free agents as it is. Having said that...I'm glad we traded for all star Carl (AA/1-17) Crawford.

Similiar themes that I have been in require you to have at least 20 players from your 2 teams. That seems fair. Lets get some input here.

I believe a salary of 100mm would have prevented a lot of trades is salry cap was 100mm I would have easliy kept 20 rays and yankees but with cap at 80mm I made trades to stay under the cap
we can't go changing that now unless you void all trades and bump cap to 100 mm and require each team to keep at least 20 players from their 2 teams on their roster

Strong points all. Right on. I suppose, at some point, we should get back to the supplemental draft--it's kinda like "trading". All trades null & void--only kidding.

Don't exaggerate what I said. No one is saying to change all the rules or even the cap. My opinion is to simply add 1 rule, which is a minimum number of players from our 2 franchises. Keep the trades, keep the $80mil, but as of right now we're dangerously close to losing the initial theme IMHO.
Others have expressed their concern also. But, If the Commish wants to leave things as is, no problem whatsoever. I do think it's a viable concern, however.
