In a current league I am in, I have been able to add Steve Carlton and Mario Soto to my pitching staff that includes Higuera and Scott. Carlton was dropped after game 30 and Soto after game 36. Do you think this staff is going to rack up a few K's? I think I could play 4's at all my positions since they won't need their gloves to play defense. 8)

they might not need their gloves for fielding; they also won't need them for retrieval of all the DINGERS they give up over the course of a season. You could give up 200+ HR with just those 4 starters :P

What park are you playing in ? Toss us a link to your team.

Good luck with them. There are a lot worse SP rotations you could have.

Sean,

This team started out 2-10 and is up to 19-20. I had an ERA over 8 after the first 12 games and have brought it down to the 4.6 range. I dropped Steve Rogers to get Carlton and Jim Clancy to get Soto. Clancy was actually pitching quite well, but Soto is just too good to release. Higuera has given up 12 dingers so far and Scott 10. As per usual when I have my choice of parks, I am in Fenway.

Just an update on the 2-10 team. The pitching staff has been marvelous and the team is now 39-21 since the horrible start. So far homeruns have not been a problem with this staff.

I hope the pitching continues to keep the ball in the park. The strikeout total they are racking up leaves them about 50 some strikeouts short of making the record book. 8)
