I agree with most of your modifications. I will wait until the waiver is over before making the changes. I do need a stronger DH and CF for sure.

ps - if waivers haven't run yet, you should make sure to try to grab some of the players I mentioned (via waiver claims) or they will be gone after waivers, guys like kotsay, damon or robertson

Here is what I would do, post waivers.
Get a good second basemen if you have not.
Keep Rivera and use Cabrera as trade bait for a better OBP batter, hopefully a good defensive CF.
Keep Zambrano, Santana, Pavano and if you ahve not yet, get a 4th SP*.
I would spend under 2 million for the 4th starter, Jeff Weaver, Dontrelle Willis are good options.
Your fifth starter to fill the roster requirement should be a cheapie. What I like to do, if there is a team in your division or several teams in the league with RH favored BPs or LH favored BPs, pickup a SP that is good against one of those sides for under 1 million.
Get a great closer or middle reliever.
See if you can get a better hitting 3B than Blalock for petco.
I recommend David Bell, Eric Chavez.
If not, get Chone Figgins.
Then do whatever else you see fit.
There are manny ways you can fill out your team.
Just my opinion.
