please remember gentlemen...you are picking your poison or picking draft order...you are not selecting players yet. if you choose poison you are choosing draft spot 12. if you choose plaer draft position 1 you are choosing poison selection position 12. and so on...
I really hope this is clear... you can't draft any players until your poison has been chosen.
How many rounds? earlier we had said 25... It was the intent to take this slow because everyone was trying to play out some teams they had running and people had little time. Also there are some players who have never been in a live draft and taking it slow will help them get advice from the boards from others. We are picking 2 rounds a day...that should make it easy to proxy. and not get skipped. I will be out most of the day...can someone post draft instructions for anyone who has never been in a live draft and those who have not used Pennns site. do we have permission to use it? Can someone who knows Penn get permission. I am not high on his buddy list. Maybe Wisconsin Cheesehead can ask
Looking forward to this...I would assume player drafting will begin Friday morning anytime...1/2 hour window to make your pick will give us 24 picks...in 12 hours...you can pick earlier but we will do the draft from 10AM eastern til 10PM eastern. If you can't be at the computer for a while leave a proxy. Does this sound like a plan or does anyone see a problem? Anything we have not covered? Once all of the Pills are selected we should all print out a copy of each teams Pill and keep it so that we can all be Compliance Police....It is a hard job for 1 person. Have we elected a Commissioner yet? I thought Chief was taking the job but he had to bow out of the league do to time constraints. Thoughts?

Your right Parkav. If you pick the highest available player position then you get the lowest open poison position and vica-versa. Sorry I didn't mean to confuse anyone other than myself!
BTW I don't think 2 rounds a day is slow in a live draft. It has been my experience that you can't go much faster than that as someone will always slow it down by not being ready to pick. I'm not complianing though!

However i was hoping that if you knew your time slot...going every half hour...you would know approximately when to check in. Each day you would be slotted...noboby could pick in front of you even if the clock went off until your window closed...for example...if you pick 3rd and 15th...your window to pick #3 is 11-1130 and the 15th pick can be made between 530 and 600 pM. (the 15th pick can be made earlier to expedite the draft but the 16th pick can't go until the 15th pick is made or 601PM eastern). The 4th pick can't pick until 1131 if the #3 pick had not gone. If pick 1 and 2 were completed by 1005 then #3 still has until 1130 to make their pick. This way each person knows when their pick is coming up and they can check in and make it live or leave a proxy. Now once the 1130 window closed on #3 it can be a frenzy of picks. Does this sound possible...or is there a flaw we need to work out.
Summarizing:
This is sounding more complicated than need be. 30 minute Windows will be slotted for each pick. The next pick can't go until the window has expired or the pick has been made at any earlier time.

Home from work and ready to pick a poison or draft slot when turn arrives for the Keeshonds.
Reporters interviewed some Poison Pill fans and got their thoughts on the upcoming selections.
Bob Costas: Which poison looks least desirable from a fans perspective?
Man drinking a Labatts on the corner: Hmm. That's a tough one. Some of them appear really challenging. I'd hate to see "White Rat" selected. We like homeruns.
Two women selling Avon: "Small Market Disease" and "Peter Anglos". Cheapness is not a virtue.
Newspaper seller: But, intelligent thriftiness is! The "Billy Bean" pill is a sure winner. I'd just hate to have 4's up the middle. There ain't no way a team can win with that pill. Especially with the competition in this league.
Labatts drinker: Come'on be real. Sykes and Yountfan can win with any pill!
Joe Morgan: Well Bob, we have many opinions here as fans eagerly await Grove City Beulah's selection. Will it be pill #1 or draft position #2?
Costas: What do the fans say?
Fans: Pill!!!!
Fans: Draft!!!!

Based on how fast this draft is going today there is no way we can average two rounds per day once the draft ever starts.

Once the draft moves to Penn's site for players, 3 hour time limit is a must. Don't set a goal of 2 picks a day. Use the standard time we all have come to love.

i just think the 3 hour time limit is a slow process...why would you take it from 1/2 hour to 3 hours to speed it up? At least the other way we know when to check in...and we are guaranteed 24 picks a day
help me to understand your thinking SYkes. I have always drafted the other way also...(2 hour) but I think this may be a better way....again there is a lot to consider when drafting in this league compared to normal ones.

Using penn's software you can draft pretty quickly and it support proxies. Time slotting will not work from some. Sogcomando lives in the UK and is 5 hr ahead of EST. Other may live on the west coast. A three hour limit is OK and it does move along. Drafting in the funest part. Why hurry?
