voices of reason re: trades

I am a relative newcomer to Strat, but I must say I approve of the trade procedure in the on-line game, as well as the salary cap considerations. As a veteran of keeper "rotisserie" baseball leagues, I am constantly being frustrated by the trade practices of some members in those leagues. Here's one that came to me recently in one of these leagues...

I get an email with OFFER as the subject.

I proceed to get an offer of
A for B
C for D
E for F
G for "cheap"

No further dialogue, no conditions, all specific players were named except for "cheap"...which I took to mean "a player of my choice".

I wrote back with my plug-in, accepting the offer. Soonafter, I received a "withdrawal" of the offer...my plug-in wasn't the "cheap" player he had in mind.

What do you all think of this tactic? Is it slimy, or am I over-reacting? when I make an OFFER, I stand by it...and here in the strat league, once a person accepts a trade it is a done deal.

Once an offer is accepted isn't it carried through? How did the other user withdrawal the trade? Was it an email or a trade offer?

It wasn't a strat on-line league, but a rotisserie league where trades are reported to a commissioner, who enters the info into a service like CBS Sportsline etc.
