'The Naturals' Keeper League Season XII - Using V2 Pricing

Postby ArrylT » Mon Jun 02, 2008 12:34 pm

Well another season is about to begin. Like last year I feel pretty confident about my squad. Wonder how long before I get disabused of that notion. ;)

Last year I started at 8-4 and then went 7-22 to be 15-26 at the quarter-way mark. :(

Well despite a lack of table setting from Ozzie, our team is off to a solid start - so far.

And here I thought Terriers were dogs whose bark was worse than their bite. :(

Break Up the Specials!

Postby doc x » Sat Jun 07, 2008 10:29 am

After 15 games the Specials are 4-11 and the pitching stinks   with a team ERA of 5.08, in Griffith no less! The hitting isn't much better. After hovering around a team BA of .200  :x it has climbed into the .250 range.

Hopefully, they'll turn it around.

You mean you want your team batting average to go back down to .200? :?

Btw it is neat how quickly averages can change so early in the season ... here are some of the averages of Doc's team after Game 14 and then after game 15 (where they had 21 hits - more than the previous 2 combined).

E.Collins 2B 4 0 0 0 .211
E.Collins 2B 5 2 4 0 .258

S.Musial LF 4 0 1 0 .228
S.Musial LF 6 1 3 2 .254

F.Alou RF 4 1 1 0 .237
F.Alou RF 5 2 3 2 .266

M.Sanguillen C 4 0 0 0 .196
M.Sanguillen C 6 0 4 1 .242

T.Fernandez SS 3 0 0 0 .241
T.Fernandez SS 5 0 2 1 .254

Interestingly enough dr. x you now have a better AVG than my team ... but your SLG is about 80 points worse.

Killebrew seems to be a solid addition so far - leading the team in RBI and either 2nd or 3rd in HR & SLG. :)

I do not know if it is coincidence or not, but having J. Foxx seems to work really for Roy Campanella. Foxx usually bats 2nd/3rd while Campanella bats 4th/5th.

Season IV

J. Foxx
.302 .378 .508, 108R, 33 HR, 103 RBI
R. Campanella
.359 .433 .706, 109R, 48 HR, 149 RBI

Season V

J. Foxx
.297 .392 .540, 114 R, 38 HR, 121 RBI
R. Campanella
.302 .386 .570, 112 R, 40 HR, 126 RBI

Season VI so far

J. Foxx
.323 .422 .476, 36 R, 6 HR, 21 RBI
R. Campanella
.311 .387 .665, 30 R, 18 RBI, 45 RBI

Well after going 3 & 6 to close out last week, my team has rebounded to win 9 of the last 12. This gives me hope that this could be my first team since Season II to have a winning record.

In real time that is about 18 months (Season II ended in Jan 2007) while in SOM Baseball time that is about 4 years.
