TSN_10477 of the 2001 season needs 5
Remember, 2001 does not use the waiver system and is 100% frenzy. Hope to see you there.

When I look at the league directory I don't see a 2001 league. How do I find it? I'm still pretty new to SOM on this site.

Thanks

OK, NVM last post. I found out how to get there. One question, is the format and the way you play those leagues different than 1986, ATG or 2007??

It has a different look and screen. I was just wondering if its set up and ran like the 1986 leagues i have played?

Thanks

Ok, here is a reply to all your questions even though you did find it on your own. I'm sure someone else will ask.

1. There are currently only two leagues available that are not password protected. The one I am in (my team is the City Island Decibels) needs eight more teams ($12.50 each).

2. Use the link below to get to the 2001 teams available page (swiped from the leagues available link):

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2001/draft/league_join_list_all.html

Once there, look to the left to find "Account Info". Below that you will see "Create a new team".

3. The rules for the 2001 season will be a bit different then you will be used to but generally the same. The differences are that 2001 was the first season TSN started the Stratomatic franchise and therefore improved the game in later additions. The main thing to know is there is no waiver draft. It only uses the frenzy method which means first come first served for the free agent once the teams are drafted (usually about 12:10am ET after the 12th team has joined. Otherwise, there are no fine tuning check boxes on each card (SP max 6 or 7 innings, SB more or not at all, do not use in relief before 8th inning to give examples). Also, you draft 25 but only need to keep 23 and for the pitchers, 5 starters, 1 closer, and only eight pitchers minimum.

Its a great game but most would consider it roughing it compared to the newer additions but you do have Bonds and Sosa in all there alleged steroid glory and some stadiums like Veterans that are no longer with us.

Hope this helps. Welcome aboard.
