Reality Bites - 2007 (Team Based) - Full!

$80M, advd., wtd. waivers, DH, geographic divisions, must play your home team's stadium only, strict 25 man roster (no more and no less) games 1 - playoffs. Cut penalty 5-10-20%. Everyone welcome!

This is a team based reality league. Depending on each respective team's total SOM salary, you can add any current or former players who had a minimum 1 MLB at bat or 1 MLB innnings pitched with your base team effective 2008 MLB season (e.g. if no one has the Rays in this league, then Delmon Young could be added to the Twin's or  no one has the Red Sox, then David Ortiz could be eligible for the Twins. Only major league ABs & IPs with your base team count toward eligibility. The number of designated restricted supplemental players will be used to equalize the payroll discrepincies.

1. Must play play your home team's stadium exclusively.

2. Roster must be strict 25 man roster effective game 1 through the playoffs. That number is not enforced through auto-draft and waiver pre-season.

3. After auto-draft, if you have anyone else's base team on your roster, then you must immedialtely trade or release that player. If after the auto-draft, you have a player on your roster that has never played for your team, you must immediately release or trade that player. At no time during the entire season can you have a player from someone else's base team or any player that has never played for your base team. Base team players are strictly off limits the entire season.

4. Waivers will be used to correct HAL's auto-draft errors. Teams may add their own base team players and restricted supplemental free-agents that are not on another base team.

5. Reminder: Each team will have a maximum set number (see number in parenthesis next to your team) of restricted supplemental players (current or former players) they can have on their 25 man roster the entire season. Example, the Red Sox cannot have more than one non-base team former or current player on their 25 man roster. Effective game 1, at no time during the regular season may a team have more than their maximum number of designated restricted supplemetnal players on their roster.

6. First come, first served basis.

7. Effective game 1 - playoffs, you must maintain a 25 man roster. During waivers and until game 1, there are no roster size limits.

8. [b:1b0f83884f]Honesty and integrity are a must. [/b:1b0f83884f]Password will be given when the league is filled.

mbrake,

This looks like a fair set-up. Therefore, why don't you just let people pick their favorite team when they sign up?

I'm obviously open to all suggestions. I've done that in the past & some people get P.O. because they didn't think that was fair either. I'll see what the interest level is and what everyone thinks is most fair.

Fair enough.

Actually, I'm a little over-extended, so I'm not going to jump in right now (regardless of whether or not you changed the sign-up rule).

Best of luck.

I'm from Cleveland, so if I pledge to join the league, I would like to be the Tribe. Like my good friend The Biomechanical Man suggested, I would like to be able to commit to a team right off the bat (no pun intended).

Supplemental players

Postby AeroDave10 » Mon Jun 16, 2008 9:31 am

How did you "calculate" the number of supplemental players allowed per team? I think that by having an $80M roster, this restriction is not necessary. Maybe if we bump the payroll up to $100M or $200M, then maybe we could invoke some kind of restriction on supplemental players. I kind of like mixing the old and new blood together, but these restrictions limit that severely. Just my 2 cents. What do you think?

That's the challenge of this league, it's not an all-star team. It is team based reality.
